Well, here we are at the end of the year already! It sure went by fast, but if you did not get an opportunity to list your home for sale in 2017 and you’re thinking about waiting until January 2018, you may want to consider listing now. Most homeowners believe that listing a home for sale during the holiday season is perhaps the most ineffective thing you can do, but listing during the holidays is actually a pretty good time to list! We know that buyers are already here in the market and looking right now and buyers looking during the holidays are serious! They have made a commitment to visit open houses and look for the right home during a very busy time - only a serious buyer would do that… and if you’re selling, that can work to your advantage! Additionally, there is not a lot of competition on the market right now, but come January 2018, we will see a flood of inventory come into the market as we do every year. Why not avoid the competition in January and list now? Done tastefully, holiday décor can really allow a prospective buyer to picture themselves in the home especially at holiday time! Holiday smells of baking cookies never hurts either. Of course, keep the smells subtle and pleasing!

For the same reasons, sellers are also very serious and motivated during the holidays, making this time a win-win situation for both sides of the transaction.
